Emerging artist, Alfred J. Barrera, brings the abstract form of digital photography to a whole new level. Often distinguished by his use of vibrant colors and profound concepts, Alfred's work reflects a bizarre and delicious creativity that makes every wandering eye thirst for more. Maintaining a strong sensibility to every production aspect, Alfred is very skilled at modeling and photo editing in addition to his sharp handling of the camera. To hone his craft in the beginning he often served as his own model resulting in a spectacular range of self portraits. Alfred has proven to be a brilliant architect in constructing his unique visions from each and every angle. Examples of his work range from displaying models in the act of dousing themselves in various condiments, to the glorious exploration of his Eden-esque landscapes - even encountering a life-sized Mr. Potato Head along the way. Inspired by such photographers as David LaChappelle and Pierre et Gilles, Alfred’s diverse portfolio demonstrates a combination of talent, versatility, and an unstoppable imagination. Born and raised in Miami, Florida Alfred invented his love for the art of photography and graphic design at the age of 15. Now 28 years old, he already has an extensive resume which includes working with R&M Advertising under the guidance of Paul Rackley, and conducting photo shoots for the likes of Heatherette, (the trendsetting fashion house founded by designers Traver Rains and Richie Rich) and up and coming POP star, Tokyo Diiva, and the son of the Sultan of Brunie, Prince Azim. His work has been featured in such publications as CLOSER Magazine & BACKSLASH Magazine. He has also worked as the Art Director for Johnny's Bar in Fort Lauderdale, creating sassy advertisements and posters for the infamous nightspot. Currently residing in Miami- moved back from New York City, Alfred has many projects underway with plans to establish his career internationally. Knowing no borders or boundaries, Alfred is guaranteed to soon become a force to be reckoned with in the world of photography, and within the world at large.
